Alexa, text Mom, “Happy Birthday.”
Once, these common commands for Alexa were innovations of the future. Now, they are merely run-of-the-mill tasks when Alexa can do so much more.
When sitting in the car, you might hear, Alexa, I’m feeling cold. And to your surprise, heated seats and central air begin to make the vehicle more comfortable.
The Lamborghini Huracán EVO is the latest iteration of the V10-powered luxury car. While some may be thinking of the aerodynamic body composed of the most successful parts of other Lamborghini models, that’s not the most impressive feature.
The 20-inch Aesir rims, 8.4-inch touchscreen, and exclusive Carbon Skin upholstery may be pleasantly surprising drivers—but Lamborghini’s blossoming relationship with Alexa is sure to be jaw-dropping, literally.
Although the popular voice assistant, Alexa, has been available in vehicles for some years now, Lamborghini is the first to take advantage of the upgraded Alexa Auto SDK 3.0 system. This makes the Huracán EVO the first-ever vehicle to allow adjustments to the air conditioner, lights, windows, and seat warmers via Alexa. Of course, she can also assist with navigation and audio.
Alexa is also capable of inferring what the driver or passengers want based on less direct commands or statements. Another Lamborghini-exclusive feature includes a real-time overview of the vehicle’s status. Alexa can give reports on traction and torque when the driver asks to see the dynamic coordinator.
The speech controls in the Huracán EVO add more than just pleasure, comfort, and ease to the vehicle. They also add a level of safety, as drivers will be less distracted from the road with the help of Alexa.
While the Alexa Auto SDK 3.0 system will be standard in every new Huracán EVO, Lamborghini insists that every present customer with a Huracán EVO can receive a free retrofitting to enable Alexa support.
The addition of the Alexa Auto SDK 3.0 system to the Huracán EVO reveals a significant partnership between Lamborghini and Amazon. Naturally, we can expect to see an increasing number of vehicles under the Lamborghini name make Alexa a standard addition.
The fact that Amazon has partnered with Lamborghini for the new iteration of their Alexa Auto software will drive other manufacturers to include the same or similar software.
Amazon previously made a deal with General Motors in 2019 regarding the Alexa Auto SDK 2.0. While this auto manufacturer is popular in the US, the esteem of Italian manufacturer Lamborghini may have been sought after by Amazon. Lamborghini is owned by Audi, a subsidiary of Volkswagen Group.
Alexa’s capabilities in the auto industry are advancing quickly, and intelligent voice-control is likely to become standard in nearly every vehicle in the near future. Ned Curic, vice president of Alexa Auto, envisions Alexa as an integral and natural part of the driving experience.
Currently,
select models of Ford, Audi, Chrysler, Lexus, Lincoln, and Toyota, in
addition to Lamborghini, offer Alexa capabilities.
Although some of the most outstanding features of the new Huracán EVO utilize its intelligent abilities to anticipate the driver’s behavior, expectations, and desires, the brand new Alexa Auto SDK 3.0 is to be admired.
The new and ongoing relationship between Amazon Alexa and the Lamborghini Huracán EVO sets the stage for even more advancements regarding vehicle voice control and intelligent software.
What is already one of the most revered vehicles in the world now has something else to show off, and soon, it may be standard.
